Myself and 2 neighbor kids were outside checking out the lunar eclipse we had approx 2-3 years ago. I had a high powered scope and a telescope but, the kids had binoculars. Our sidewalks are lined with huge 40 foot canadian maple and birchwood trees. We also have a lot of rabbits in our area as well and it’s not uncommon to have 5 or 6 in each yard. I told you that so it will make a little more sense when the time comes. Animals here are used to people and don’t run away from you like normal rabbits etc. usually do. While checking out the lunar eclipse thru my scope I had to stop a few times because the front lense kept fogging up. After the 3rd time I got frustrated and decided to hell with it, I’ll use my telescope instead. While setting up the tripod 1 of the kids was looking thru their binoculars and his brother was kinda checking out the telescope so I invited him to come take a look and see. He started walking over which (approx 25-30 feet). When he got within 5 feet of me the block went silent. Like all rabbits disappeared, the birds weren’t chirping, no crickets no nothing and then as almost a complete muffling came over us. We both looked up and saw this massive wingspan that overlapped the tops of the trees (approx 30-35 foot circumference). This thing made no noise and from top to bottom, it was about 11 feet long. The muffling effect and everything else ended when it cleared that treetop. I’m glad someone else was there too see this with me, because I never would have believed it myself. Every once in awhile he’ll come around when I’m outside building or fixing things to talk about that night. His dad asks him if he’s going to go hang with his step dad (me) today lol. My apologies for no names being given but,the kids are minors.
