Sometimes it may take up to an hour for a story to be added to the database. The website stores its own cache to save on load times. Once it clears itself, your post should appear.
How do I actually look around the place the sighting occurred?
Google maps allow you to use street view to look around the approximate location of the encounter! To do this, find the sighting you want to view, zoom in on it as much as possible (the closer the zoom, the more accurate the view will be), then click and drag the yellow icon of a person until your finger or mouse is directly on the center of the red marker at the bottom of the sighting marker.
Please note that Street View is incomplete in some areas, so street view cannot show you every location. Street view is just that - a view from the roads nearby.
Someone posted a story over the same address and my story is gone!
Your story is still there! Whenever a story is posted over an already used address, and if that story appears on the same page archive, the newer story shows on top. To fix this, simply type your story title into the search bar above the map and press enter. Then, *boom* your story should be there.
